Singapore Airlines and Air India Agree on Framework for Joint Business Cooperation
All Nippon Airways (ANA) will suspend all flights to and from Shizuoka from October 1.
The one daily round-trip service on the Shizuoka–Sapporo/Chitose and Shizuoka–Okinawa/Naha routes will both be suspended from the same date. These two routes were launched on June 4, 2009, when Shizuoka Airport opened. They were initially operated by Air Nippon, and the first year’s seat load factor exceeded 60 percent, with annual demand forecast at 60,000 passengers.
According to ANA, “While we will increase frequencies on routes where strong demand is expected, we will reduce or suspend services on some routes based on a comprehensive assessment of demand trends and the competitive environment.”
