ANA to Introduce New Aircraft Including Boeing 737-8 and 787-9 with New Business Class

All Nippon Airways (ANA), a major Japanese airline, will introduce new aircraft.

The new Boeing 737-8 aircraft will be delivered in June, and the Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with new seats will be delivered from August. ANA will announce the specific routes on which they will be operated once they are decided.

The Boeing 787-9 will feature a total of 206 new seats: 48 seats in the new business class, “THE Room FX” business class, 21 seats in Premium Economy Class, and 137 seats in Economy Class.

“THE Room FX” was developed in cooperation with the British design company Acumen Design Associate and Safran Seats. The seat pitch is 103 inches in a “1-2-1” configuration. The private suite doors and walls have been made thinner, and curved lines have been adopted for the seat backs. The seats are arranged alternately facing forward and backward. Compared to the seats on the current Boeing 787-9 aircraft, the new seats are wider and use a pre-reclined design with the backrest reclined in advance. The monitor size has also been increased to 24 inches, and wireless charging, USB-C/A power outlets, AC power outlets, and Bluetooth connectivity have been introduced.
