Ethiopian Airlines has placed an order for nine Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
This follows an additional order for eleven Boeing 737-8 aircraft, bringing the airline’s total outstanding orders to 20 more aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled between 2031 and 2033.
Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, commented, “We are very pleased to have decided to order nine Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which will further expand our existing fleet. This order is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance customer service by introducing the latest fuel-efficient aircraft and expanding our fleet. Based on our strategic vision to realize a sustainable aviation industry, we will continue to procure aircraft and introduce the latest technologies.”
Ethiopian Airlines currently operates Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft on high-demand intercontinental routes between Addis Ababa and destinations in Europe, North America, and Asia, as well as on major routes within Africa.
