Rakuten Group has changed the “Rakuten Travel Bonus Program” on its travel booking site “Rakuten Travel” as of January.
Depending on the membership level, on-site payment earns an additional 0% to 1.5% Rakuten Points, online credit card payment earns an additional 1% to 3% Rakuten Points for reservations made within 3 months, and 2% to 6% Rakuten Points for reservations made 4 months or more in advance. Including the regular points, users can earn up to 7% in Rakuten Points.
There are five levels in total, determined by the number of domestic hotel stays or domestic tours used in one year: 1 time or less is Level 0, 2 to 3 times is Level 1, 4 to 6 times is Level 2, 7 to 9 times is Level 3, and 10 times or more is Level 4. Eligible usage is domestic hotel stays with a reservation amount of at least 10,000 yen per booking, or domestic tours with a reservation amount of at least 60,000 yen per booking, and must be at participating properties.
