KLM Cancels Middle East Flights Due to Regional Situation
Philippine Airlines unveiled its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft at the Lufthansa Technik Philippines hangar located at Villamor Air Base in Manila, Philippines.
In addition to Lucio C. Tan III, President of PAL Holdings, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Republic of the Philippines and other senior government officials were in attendance.
The aircraft has a total of 382 seats: 42 seats in Business Class in a 1-2-1 configuration, 24 seats in Premium Economy Class in a 2-4-2 configuration, and 316 seats in Economy Class in a 3-4-3 configuration. Business Class seats feature doors and wireless charging, while Premium Economy Class seats are equipped with leg rests, footrests, and mini cocktail tables.
All classes are equipped with USB-A and USB-C power outlets. The in-flight Wi-Fi supports streaming; all services are available free of charge in Business Class, while some services are fee-based in Premium Economy Class and Economy Class.
The cabin interior was designed by Lift Aero Design, a design firm based in Tokyo and Singapore. The newly introduced “PAL Sunrise” design is applied to the partitions of each cabin zone, and the carpets adopt patterns inspired by the colors of tropical seas. The styling of the seats incorporates design elements from the Airbus A350-900 and Airbus A321neo, creating a unified visual identity. Furthermore, twelve mood-lighting scenes have been developed, including “Head of State,” used for presidential flights, and “National Flag,” used upon arrival in Manila.
Managing Director Baron Daniehl commented, “This cabin design merges ‘smart evolution’ with ‘a view to the next generation,’ embodying PAL’s commitment to continually offering world-class cabin products and services.”
The airline placed a firm order for nine aircraft in June 2023 and plans to receive five of them within 2026 and three more in 2027. Going forward, the A350-1000 will be deployed on long-haul transpacific routes, including services to the U.S. mainland and Canada.
