GO, a Japanese taxi app service, launched “GO PREMIUM Sedan,” a premium sedan dispatch service available through the taxi app “GO,” on January 14.
The service is available in five central wards of Tokyo: Chiyoda, Chuo, Minato, Shibuya, and Shinjuku. The vehicles are Toyota Crown FCEV fuel cell electric vehicles, equipped with seat heaters, reclining seats, and “refresh seats” that can apply pressure via air cushions in the seat base. Around 50 vehicles are being prepared for service.
Since 2022, GO has been offering “GO PREMIUM,” a service that dispatches high-end one-box vans that can accommodate up to six passengers in 19 wards of Tokyo and Musashino City, as well as in Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture.
The fare structure adds a premium charge of up to 50% of the pickup fee, on top of the pickup fee and arrangement fee. The rate fluctuates depending on supply and demand, with a minimum premium charge of 500 yen. Regular taxi fares are charged separately.
