
Tokyo Metro and Toei to Raise Prices of Discount Tickets from March 14
East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and Chiba Prefecture have begun selling the early spring edition of the “Thank You Chiba Free Pass,” which offers unlimited rides on JR lines within Chiba Prefecture, as well as on selected railways, local buses, and a ferry route.
With this pass, you can enjoy unlimited rides for two consecutive days on all lines of JR East within Chiba Prefecture, as well as on Kominato Railway, Isumi Railway, Choshi Electric Railway, Ryutetsu, Keisei Electric Railway, Hokuso Railway, and Shibayama Railway. On JR lines, it is valid for non-reserved seats in ordinary cars on local trains, and by purchasing an additional limited express ticket, you can also board limited express and other premium trains. In addition, the pass can be used on designated bus routes operated by Kominato Railway, Kujukuri Railway, JR Bus Kanto, Keisei Bus Chiba East, Nitto Kotsu, and Keisei Taxi East, as well as on the Tokyo-Wan Ferry route between Kurihama Port and Kanaya Port across Tokyo Bay. The price is 3,970 yen for adults and 1,980 yen for children.
A separate “Thank You Chiba Free Ticket,” which combines this free pass with a round trip from any station within the JR East Tokyo Metropolitan District (Tokyo city area) to the free area in Chiba Prefecture, is also available. The price is 4,790 yen for adults and 2,390 yen for children.
The validity period is from January 4 to February 28. Tickets can be purchased up to the day of use. The “Thank You Chiba Free Pass” is sold at major reserved-seat ticket vending machines (Midori-no-kenbaiki Plus) at JR East stations within Chiba Prefecture and at Kurihama Station. The “Thank You Chiba Free Ticket” is sold at major JR East stations within the Tokyo Metropolitan District.
