ANA Holdings to Strengthen Shareholder Returns with New Dividend and Benefits Program
On January 30, Star Alliance donated 776,647 yen raised through a charity auction conducted by its 13 member airlines in the Japan region to the Japanese Red Cross Society. The donation will be used as “Red Cross activity funds” to support the organization’s humanitarian activities in Japan and overseas, including disaster relief operations, disaster-preparedness awareness and education, and the training of volunteers.
The auction was held online in December 2025 in a “silent” format, with no live bidding and without disclosing the winning bid amounts. Of the 25 Star Alliance member airlines, the 13 that took part were All Nippon Airways (ANA), Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, EVA Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa German Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Thai Airways International, Turkish Airlines, and United Airlines. A total of 31 items across 27 categories were put up for auction, including limited-edition model airplanes, non-retail items featuring airline logos, and novelty goods with revived retro designs.
At the presentation ceremony held at the headquarters of the Japanese Red Cross Society in Shiba Daimon, Tokyo, Hiroyuki Igarashi, Deputy General Manager of the Sales Planning Department at ANA, handed over a certificate of the donation to Hajime Yasue, General Manager of the Partnership Promotion Department at the Japanese Red Cross Society. Shintaro Tsumura, Manager of the Fundraising Section in the same department, expressed his gratitude, saying, “In recent years, various disasters have occurred, including the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. We will make effective use of these funds to support our activities.” He also noted that Star Alliance member airlines provide seats during disaster relief operations, adding, “We receive support for our activities in many different ways.”
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Star Alliance held in-person charity auctions at “Tourism EXPO Japan,” a travel event organized by bodies including the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), and donated the proceeds to organizations involved in disaster recovery and reconstruction in Japan. During the pandemic, the scale of these activities was reduced, but they have been resumed in line with the recovery in air travel demand.
