Star Flyer will begin sales of air tickets for travel on and after May 19, from February 3.
The new main fare types will be “Normal Fare”, “STAR”, and “Soratabi”. The current detailed fare structure, in which tickets become cheaper the earlier they are purchased (such as 75 days or 55 days in advance purchase), will be consolidated into these three categories. The booking and sales deadlines will be: until the day of departure for Normal Fare, until the day before departure for STAR and the Round-Trip Discount, and until 28 days before departure for Soratabi. Reservation changes will be accepted only for Normal Fare.
In addition, the conventional round-trip fares will be abolished, and a new “Round-Trip Discount” will be introduced, offering a 5% discount from the applicable fares when purchasing both the outbound and return itineraries at the same time with either “STAR” or “Soratabi” fares. This discount can be applied even when the arrival airport of the outbound flight and the departure airport of the return flight are different.
Child fares and discounted fares for passengers with disabilities will newly be set at 20% and 25% off, respectively, from the applicable fares. Open tickets will no longer be available for travel on and after May 18. Ticket refund handling fees will be abolished and unified into a single cancellation fee.
For award tickets, the deadline for making and changing reservations will be changed to the day before departure. Passenger facility charges will start being collected for travel on the same date, and payment at the time of booking will be accepted only by credit card. In addition, award redemption will be limited to either one one-way sector or a round trip on the same sector, and same-day changes to earlier flights and airport standby for seats will not be offered.
The free baggage allowance will be changed to up to 2 pieces, each weighing no more than 23 kilograms, with the sum of the three dimensions within 158 centimeters. Fees will be set separately for excess baggage depending on excess weight, number of pieces, or size.
