ZIPAIR Tokyo Begins Operating Boeing 787-8 with Riblet-Shaped Coating
Skymark Airlines will take delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 aircraft in April. It is expected to be the first delivery of the type to a Japanese airline. This is about one month later than the original plan.
The aircraft will feature a new livery. While following the current design, the brand color “SKY BLUE” has been extended in a flowing shape from the vertical tail to the lower fuselage, expressing both the dynamism of the latest model and the airline’s intention to keep moving forward into a new phase. The winglets adopt a “double heart” motif with two red hearts, inspired by younger employees’ idea that they want to “deliver lots of warmth (hearts) to even more people.” The aircraft will have 177 seats, the same as the current fleet, while fuel consumption will be reduced by about 15%.
Skymark Airlines will introduce a total of 20 aircraft: 13 Boeing 737-8s and 7 Boeing 737-10s. Of these, 6 Boeing 737-8s, including the first aircraft, will be introduced through leasing.
