Cathay Pacific to Increase Fukuoka–Hong Kong Flights from March 29
Times Mobility will revise Times Car’s compensation system and the charging method for use before the reservation start time (service time) from April 1.
Regarding the compensation system in the event of an accident, the current unlimited limit for personal injury compensation will be changed to 60 million yen per person. In addition, a new deductible of 50,000 yen for vehicle compensation will be introduced for members who fall under any of the following: members who have caused multiple accidents within a short period and, among them, at least one accident resulting in total loss or severe damage to the vehicle; members who have caused an accident due to gross negligence; and members who have caused an accident resulting in serious damage.
The reason for revising the compensation system is that there have been cases of multiple accidents occurring within a short period and major accidents caused by significant negligence on the part of members, leading to a continued increase in accident-related costs, making it difficult to maintain the current compensation system.
The charging method for use during service time will also be changed. At Times Car, in order to carry out daily inspections and maintenance as required by Japanese law, users have been allowed to use the car free of charge for 5 to 10 minutes before the reserved start time as service time. After the revision, if the car is driven and used only during the service time, a 15-minute usage fee will be charged. The fees for the Safety Compensation Service and the minimum charge will also be subject to billing.
The reason for revising the charging method is that there has been an increase in cases where cars are driven and returned entirely within the service time, which has made it difficult to secure reservations during busy hours of the day and for long-duration bookings.
