The Last Two 185 Series Trains Still Active for Spring Seasonal Services to Izu and Gunma
Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu) began operating its wrapped train, the “DOALA TRAIN,” on January 26.
The service is a collaboration with the Chunichi Dragons, a professional baseball team based in Nagoya, Japan. The train used is a four-car set (set 2003) of the “μ-SKY” (Myu-Sky) 2000 series, an airport limited express. The body features a reversed version of the conventional color scheme, and illustrations of “Meitetsu Station Staff Doala” wearing a Meitetsu uniform, as well as Doala cheering with a megaphone. A dedicated head mark is displayed on the front of the train.
The end date of operation has not yet been decided. Operation information will be provided on the company’s website from January 30 to May 6.
