AirAsia X has announced that it will launch a Kuala Lumpur–Bahrain–London/Gatwick route on June 26.
The airline will operate one round-trip flight per day. The total travel time is approximately 16 and a half hours. AirAsia X withdrew from London and Paris in March 2012, making this its first service to Europe in about 14 years.
This will be AirAsia X’s second fifth-freedom route. Bahrain will become AirAsia X’s first global hub airport, further strengthening its role as a key gateway connecting Southeast Asia with the Middle East and Europe.
To commemorate the launch, one-way tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Bahrain and London will be offered from 99 Malaysian ringgit and 199 Malaysian ringgit respectively. The sales period runs until February 22, and the travel period is from June 26 to November 30.
