
JR East to Revise Fares in March 2026 with a 7.8% Increase, Application Approved
JR East (East Japan Railway Company) will extend the opening hours of Midori-no-Madoguchi ticket offices and “Talkable” Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machines, and open temporary ticket counters in conjunction with its fare revision.
Tickets purchased before the fare revision on March 14 will be charged at the pre-revision fare, even if the validity start date is after the revision. For the “Ekinet” online reservation service, the payment date will be considered the purchase date.
From March 9 to 13, the opening hours of Midori-no-Madoguchi ticket offices at 124 stations will be extended. Temporary ticket counters will be set up at Kawaguchi, Minami-Koshigaya, Kita-Asaka, Kawagoe, and Kuki stations.
From March 11 to 13, the operating hours of “Talkable” Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machines at 88 stations will be extended by one hour, with service available until 9:00 p.m.
