MIC to Open NICONICO Rent a Car Kumamoto Airport Branch on February 14
Zurich Airport in Switzerland will reduce its airport facility charges from October 1.
The current charges have been in place since September 2016 and their validity was exceptionally extended due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. An adjustment process had been underway since April 2025.
Negotiations were conducted between the airport company and representatives of airlines including Swiss International Air Lines and easyJet, as well as other carriers, with the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) attending as an observer. The new charges are determined based on passenger volume forecasts, construction projects for related facilities, and operating costs, and are only allowed to cover actual costs, with profit-making explicitly prohibited. As passenger numbers are expected to increase over the next several years and investments are being planned cautiously, a reduction was decided.
The new charge collected from departing passengers will be 30.40 Swiss francs (currently 35 francs). By integrating the baggage sorting system fee into the landing charge, landing fees will increase. Noise-related charges will also be raised.
