ZIPAIR Tokyo Begins Operating Boeing 787-8 with Riblet-Shaped Coating
Lufthansa German Airlines has begun accepting reservations and selling tickets for its new “Lufthansa Allegris” business class on Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with “Lufthansa Allegris” will be delivered for the first time in August 2025. Lufthansa is currently operating eight Boeing 787-9s. Due to delays in seat certification, tickets could not be sold for the new product until now. Tickets are now available for flights departing on or after April 15. Of the 28 business class seats, 25 will be offered for sale, with the three seats in the second row not being sold.
“Lufthansa Allegris” is a new-generation cabin concept featuring multiple types of seats. In addition to classic seats, which can be reserved free of charge, passengers can pay extra to select a front-row business class suite, extra space seats with more legroom, privacy seats by the window, and extra-long beds with a length of 2.2 meters.
The “Lufthansa Allegris” cabin has also been installed on Airbus A350-900 aircraft based at Munich Airport, and has been in operation since May 2024. The Boeing 787-9 fleet is based at Frankfurt Airport in Germany. Under the summer schedule, these aircraft operate flights to Austin, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Cape Town, Shanghai/Pudong, Hyderabad, and Hong Kong. From June, they will also serve New York/John F. Kennedy and Los Angeles, and from July, Delhi. Lufthansa plans to introduce a total of 29 Boeing 787-9s by the end of 2027.
