Tokyu Hotels & Resorts to Rebrand and Open Tokyo Kojimachi Tokyu REI Hotel in February 2027
Core Global Management will launch a new Japanese hot spring brand “Gensen Itto” and open two new onsen inns this summer: “Gensen Itto Minami Izu” in Shizuoka Prefecture and “Gensen Itto Iwate Shizukuishi” in Iwate Prefecture.
The stays will redefine the appeal of Japanese hot springs around five core elements: “Gensen-ryoku” (Hot Spring Power), offering certified onsen selected based on criteria such as water volume, quality of the spring source, and genuine free-flowing spring water direct from the source; “Gensen-ongei” (Warm Welcome with Spring Water), providing hospitality that makes use of the spring source, such as welcome services and amenities; “Gensen-taiken” (Spring Source Experience), offering bathing experiences that incorporate the local nature and scenery, including open-air baths and “yukemuri-zake” (sake enjoyed amid the steam of the baths); “Gensen-takumi” (Crafted Spring Flavors), serving cuisine that combines local ingredients with cooking methods utilizing the hot spring source, along with local sake and tea; and “Gensen-shuraku” (Spring Source Recreation), offering activities such as making onsen-boiled eggs and “yunohana” (mineral deposits from hot springs).
“Gensen Itto Minami Izu” will have a total of 39 guest rooms and is accessible by car in about 15 minutes from Izukyū-Shimoda Station in Shizuoka Prefecture. “Gensen Itto Iwate Shizukuishi” will have a total of 57 guest rooms and is about a 25-minute drive from the Morioka Interchange (IC) on the Tōhoku Expressway in Iwate Prefecture.
