Lufthansa to Refurbish Airbus A320 Cabin Interiors
Lufthansa German Airlines will refurbish the cabins of its Airbus A320 aircraft.
The seats are manufactured by Geven and now feature adjustable headrests, while business class seats will have a greater recline for enhanced comfort. USB-A/C power outlets, tablet and smartphone holders, and overhead bins that are 40% larger than previous ones have been introduced. The cabin features a modern design inspired by the design of Lufthansa’s long-haul aircraft.
The first refurbished aircraft, “Zulu Yankee” (registration: D-AIZY), has already returned to service from mid-February, and the airline plans to complete the refurbishment of 38 aircraft by 2029. The work takes an average of 30 days per aircraft and uses around 1,000 different parts sourced from approximately 100 suppliers.
