ANA to Introduce New Lounge Reception System at Airports in Japan
ZIPAIR Tokyo has become the first airline in Asia to introduce “Starlink,” the low Earth orbit satellite communication service provided by SpaceX.
The service has initially been installed on one aircraft, and its high-speed, stable connection environment supports uses such as streaming and online gaming. By this spring, the remaining seven aircraft will be equipped one after another, and the service will be available on all aircraft across all routes. The service is offered free of charge.
In January 2023, ZIPAIR Tokyo announced that it was conducting technical verification toward the introduction of Starlink.
The low Earth orbit satellite communication service provided through Starlink is characterized by high-speed, low-latency connectivity. It has already been introduced by airlines such as Qatar Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, and United Airlines.
