ZIPAIR Tokyo Becomes First Asian Airline to Introduce SpaceX Starlink
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Japan Transocean Air (JTA) will revise their special aviation insurance surcharge for tickets issued on or after April 1.
The surcharge applies to international flight segments to and from Japan operated by both airlines, as well as codeshare flights operated by other carriers, and a fixed amount will be collected per segment. It does not apply to segments to and from Canada or Hong Kong, nor to itineraries originating in Brazil. The same amount applies to adults, children, and infants.
Currently, 550 yen is collected for purchases made in Japan, and 3.8 US dollars for purchases made in other countries. From April 1, the surcharge will be raised to 600 yen for purchases made in Japan, and to 4 US dollars for purchases made in other countries.
