JAL Suspends Tokyo Haneda–Doha Flights Through March 3 Due to Middle East Situation
Japan Airlines (JAL) has decided to cancel its Tokyo/Haneda–Doha route through March 8.
A total of 16 flights will be suspended: departures from Tokyo/Haneda from February 28 to March 7, and departures from Doha from March 1 to 8.
Based on the current situation in the Middle East, the airline states that flights will be canceled until it can confirm that operational safety is sufficiently secured. The route is normally operated once daily round-trip.
The United States and Israel have attacked Iran, and Iran is believed to be retaliating by attacking, or targeting, U.S. military bases in neighboring countries. Countries across the Middle East have closed their airspace, and Qatar Airways has decided to temporarily suspend all flights to and from Doha, Emirates all flights to and from Dubai, and Etihad Airways all flights to and from Abu Dhabi.
