JAL’s 11th Airbus A350-1000 Arrives at Tokyo Haneda from Toulouse, to Enter Service from Mid-March
All Nippon Airways (ANA), a major Japanese airline, will hold a hands-on event for its new business class seat “THE Room FX” at Tokyo Midtown from March 12 to 14.
“THE Room FX” has been developed in collaboration with Safran Seats and the UK design company Acumen Design Associate, and will be introduced on Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The seat pitch is 103 inches in a “1-2-1” configuration. The private suite doors and walls have been made thinner, and curved lines have been adopted for the seat backs. Forward-facing and rear-facing seats are arranged in an alternating layout. Compared to the current seats on ANA’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft, the new seats are wider and adopt a pre-reclined design with the backrest already partially reclined. The monitor size has been enlarged to 24 inches, and features such as wireless charging, USB-C / -A power ports, AC power outlets, and Bluetooth connectivity have also been adopted.
In addition, ANA plans to offer hands-on experiences with the new premium economy and economy class seats, as well as exhibits of in-flight amenities and bedding, light snacks and drinks, and an in-flight sales booth.
The venue is the Atrium at Tokyo Midtown in Tokyo, Japan. The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the 13th, and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. Advance reservations are required, and a dedicated reservation slot is necessary for the business class experience. The start date and time for accepting visitor reservations will be announced once decided.
