Etihad Airways Adds More Resumed Flights to and from Abu Dhabi on a Limited Schedule
Qantas Airways will launch a new Sydney–Las Vegas route on December 29.
The airline will operate three round-trip flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, through March 12, 2027. The route will be served with Boeing 787-9 aircraft configured with 42 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 166 Economy Class seats, for a total of 236 seats. The flight time from Sydney will be approximately 13 hours and 55 minutes. Qantas will be the only airline operating non-stop flights between Australia and Las Vegas.
Las Vegas will become the 101st destination in Qantas’ network, and its eighth destination in the Americas after Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Dallas, New York, Vancouver, and Santiago.
Cam Wallace, CEO of Qantas International, said, “Australians’ desire to travel overseas remains very strong. As we have seen with Rome and Sapporo, there is solid demand for seasonal services to destinations people want to visit at specific times of the year.”
Las Vegas is one of the major overseas destinations for Australian travellers, with more than 250,000 Australians visiting annually, and it had been the largest overseas market for the city without non-stop flights. The launch of this route is based on the track record of charter flights that Qantas has operated each year to coincide with the NRL’s Las Vegas festival, and it will also cater to travel demand during CES (Consumer Electronics Show).
