Capella Hotels & Resorts will open “Capella Kyoto” on March 22.
The four-story building stands on the former site of Shindo Elementary School in Kyoto, Japan. The hotel offers a total of 89 guest rooms, including 29 suites, such as Deluxe City Rooms, Premier Theatre Rooms overlooking the Miyagawa-cho Kaburenjo Theater, Gion Suites with a direct view of Kennin-ji Temple, suites with private onsen baths, and the 206-square-meter Capella Suite on the top floor with panoramic views of the Higashiyama mountain range.
The hotel features a signature restaurant, a kaiseki-style night dining venue, a French brasserie, a pastry shop, a spa, and banquet facilities. The spa is equipped with private onsen baths, saunas, treatment rooms, and a fitness center. Through its original cultural programs, the hotel offers opportunities to experience traditional culture in Kyoto, such as special viewings at the Miyagawa-cho Kaburenjo Theater, custom-made zori sandal fittings at a traditional workshop, and kintsugi (golden joinery) workshops.
