
Qatar Airways to Operate Relief Flight to Doha on March 8
Amid deteriorating tensions in the Middle East, the first charter flight arranged by the Government of Japan arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport from Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman.
Operated as Ethiopian Airlines flight ET8403, the service used a Boeing 787-9 aircraft (registration: ET-AYD). It departed Muscat at 10:45 a.m. local time on March 8 and arrived at Narita Airport at 7:31 p.m. the same day. According to Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 107 Japanese nationals wishing to depart from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman were on board. Four members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Emergency Response Team (ERT) also took part in providing this departure assistance.
In addition, a charter flight is scheduled to operate from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to Narita Airport.
