Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Raises Travel Alert Level for Parts of Lebanon, Iraq, and Jordan
Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised the danger level for parts of Lebanon, Iraq, and Jordan.
The areas concerned had previously been classified as Level 2, and all have now been raised to Level 3 (Travel advisory: Avoid all travel).
The affected areas are: central and northern parts of Mount Lebanon Governorate, Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate, and the southern part of North Lebanon Governorate in Lebanon; Erbil City in Erbil Governorate, Sulaymaniyah Governorate, and parts of Duhok Governorate in Iraq; and Mafraq Governorate and Azraq Governorate in Jordan.
The ministry cites as reasons attacks on U.S. military interests, attacks by U.S. forces and others against armed groups within Iraq, and attacks by Israel against Hezbollah and other targets.
