Hotel Granvia Kyoto Strawberry Sweets Buffet, January 9 to May 6
APA Hotel has rebranded and opened “APA Hotel <Kochi>” on March 6.
APA Hotel and Kochi Palace Hotel concluded a franchise agreement, under which Kochi Palace Hotel has been rebranded as an APA Hotel property. Kochi Palace Hotel joined APA Partner Hotels in 2012 and had been selling rooms through APA Hotel’s website and app.
The property consists of a main building and an annex, with a total of 260 guest rooms, boasting the largest room inventory in Kochi Prefecture. All guest rooms have been made non-smoking. As part of APA Hotel’s standard specifications for its new urban-style hotels, all rooms are equipped with wall-mounted televisions, the original “Cloud fit” beds, ceiling lights, and centralized bedside controllers. The main building houses the restaurant “Pizzeria Es” and the banquet and conference hall “Muse.”
On March 13, an opening ceremony was held, attended by Toshihito Motoya, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of APA Group, and Takashi Yoshimura, Representative Director and President of Kochi Palace Hotel. CEO Motoya commented, “We hope to capture the lodging demand of our members who have long awaited the opening of the first APA Hotel in Kochi Prefecture and to welcome many guests. Rather than inciting competition by constructing new hotels and increasing room supply depending on the area, we will pursue hotel operations that aim for coexistence and mutual prosperity with local communities by rebranding existing hotels through franchise agreements.”
The hotel is located about a 7-minute walk from the south exit of JR Kochi Station, and about a 15-minute drive from the Kochi Interchange (IC) on the Kochi Expressway.
With this opening, Shimane Prefecture is now the only prefecture in Japan where APA Hotel has not yet entered the market.
