Shinagawa Prince Hotel will offer its “Sky Hanami Afternoon Tea – Sakura & Strawberry” from March 1 to April 15.
This afternoon tea reinterprets the traditional Japanese cherry-blossom viewing (hanami) in a contemporary style and is composed of savory items such as chicken suprême scented with strawberries, merimelo of cherry blossoms and bamboo shoots with firefly squid, sakura-scented mini hamburgers, desserts including sakura verrine and sakura & strawberry Mont Blanc tart, and a choice of grande desserts. Guests can choose one of three kinds of grande dessert: “Strawberry and Flan Marriage,” a custard flan served with strawberry sorbet; “Hanami Parfait,” which expresses a cherry-blossom viewing scene inside a glass; and “Saint-Honoré Rosé” (luxury plan only), which evokes cascades of cherry blossoms using sugar work, sakura powder, and strawberries arranged like petals. Beverages are served as free-flow and include a variety of teas such as black tea based on Ceylon tea blended with cherries, and fruit tea combining herbs that bloom in early spring with raspberries.
The venue is the restaurant “DINING & BAR TABLE 9 TOKYO” on the 39th floor of the Main Tower. Prices are 6,800 yen for the Signature plan and 8,300 yen for the Luxury plan. Tax included, service charge not included.
