Jetstar Airways has revamped its bid upgrade service for its business class.
The airline has introduced BidCash, and eligible customers will receive an email notification; they can also check it from the upgrade page on the official website. The service applies to international routes operated with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, and passengers can select their bid amount within a specified minimum and maximum range. For example, the minimum bid for flights from Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City starts from 180 Australian dollars.
Jetstar Airways operates 11 Boeing 787-8 aircraft, and the first aircraft is expected to complete a major interior refurbishment in Hong Kong. The number of business class seats will be expanded from the current 21 to 44, more than doubling capacity. The seat pitch will be 38 inches, recline 7 inches, and seat width 21 inches. The seats will feature a six-way adjustable headrest, footrest, tray table with folding arm, and USB-C power. The renewal will be rolled out sequentially over the next two years.
Going forward, Jetstar Airways will also support bid upgrades for Qantas Frequent Flyer members using Qantas Points. This will include Points Plus Pay, which combines Qantas Points and cash.
