DoubleTree by Hilton Osaka Castle will offer a “Strawberry and Japanese Tea Afternoon Tea” from March 16 to May 31.
The menu combines strawberries with Japanese teas such as sencha, genmaicha, matcha, hojicha, and gyokuro. The castle-themed “Golden Castle Cake” is topped with golden candy work that evokes a tiled castle roof. The “Strawberry Daifuku Brothers,” featuring strawberries topped with chocolate samurai helmets, are made with genmaicha powder. Other sweets include hojicha jelly served with rose ganache scented with sencha, and matcha milk scones.
Savories include a strawberry katsu sandwich with finely chopped strawberries paired with marinated purple cabbage, and an endive salad with strawberries and feta cheese. Grilled Tajima Ajidori chicken yakitori seasoned with green tea salt is finished with a dramatic touch, being instantly smoked with green tea at the time of service. As an optional add-on, guests can order the parfait “Strawberry and Matcha Fondant Chocolat” (an additional 1,000 yen), which features warm fondant chocolat filled with strawberries and served with raspberry ice cream.
The venue is the 6th-floor Lounge & Bar “SEN (Boat).” It is offered in 120-minute sittings from noon to 6:30 p.m. The price is 6,000 yen, tax and service charge included. Limited to 30 servings per day and reservations are required.
