
JAL Unveils New Boeing 737-8 Cabin with Domestic First Class
Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has granted a type certificate to the Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
Boeing had applied for the type certificate dated June 29, 2015. As the required inspections by the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism have been completed, the type certificate was issued dated March 25.
The Boeing 737-8 aircraft is scheduled to be delivered to Japanese airlines, with Skymark in April, ANA Holdings in June, and Japan Airlines (JAL) within fiscal year 2026. JAL has placed firm orders for 38 aircraft, ANA Holdings for 20, and Skymark for 13.
