El Al Israel Airlines Cancels Scheduled Flights Until April 18
ZIPAIR Tokyo will launch a Tokyo/Narita–Kuala Lumpur route sometime in 2026. President Yasuhiro Fukada announced this at a press conference held at Narita International Airport on April 8.
Details such as the flight schedule will be announced at a later date. Ticket sales are scheduled to begin around the summer.
Regarding Malaysia, where the airline will newly begin service, President Fukada explained that, “In addition to the size of its economy, Malaysia continues to maintain a high growth rate and is drawing significant attention within Asia.” He added that in fiscal year 2025, the number of visitors to Japan from Malaysia is expected to increase by more than 25 percent compared to fiscal 2024, showing stronger growth than many other countries.
As for travel demand from Japan to Malaysia, he noted that, in addition to tourism, travel related to study abroad and overseas assignments is also increasing, stating, “It is an attractive market that matches our target customers.”
ZIPAIR Tokyo currently operates from Tokyo/Narita to nine cities: Seoul/Incheon in South Korea; Bangkok/Suvarnabhumi in Thailand; Singapore; Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, and Vancouver in North America; and Honolulu in Hawaii, USA. With the launch of the Kuala Lumpur route in Malaysia, the number of destinations served will increase to ten.
