Lufthansa Group Pilots to Strike on April 16–17, Impacting Flights in Germany

The Lufthansa Group has announced that the pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) will hold a strike on April 16 and 17.

Strikes will take place at Lufthansa German Airlines and Lufthansa CityLine on April 16 and 17, and at Eurowings on April 13.

Other airlines in the Lufthansa Group and flights operated by Lufthansa City Airlines will not be affected, and group airlines and partner carriers will operate additional services and other measures.

Passengers booked on canceled flights will be offered rebooking or refunds free of charge. Domestic flights within Germany can be changed free of charge to Deutsche Bahn train tickets.

In addition to the fact that VC had already carried out strikes on April 13 and 14, the labor union representing cabin crew, Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organisation (UFO), has also held strikes on April 10, 15, and 16, leading to prolonged disruptions to flight operations.
