American Express will change the access conditions for its “Centurion Lounges” from July 8.
At Centurion Lounges in certain airports, accompanying guests will be required to present a boarding pass for the same flight as the cardmember. In addition, when using a connecting flight, the lounge will be available starting 5 hours before departure. Same-day round-trip itineraries are not considered connecting flights.
The changes apply to access at all airports in the United States, London Heathrow Airport, Tokyo Haneda Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Sydney Airport, and Melbourne Airport for holders of the Platinum Card, Business Platinum Card, Corporate Platinum Card, and JR Central EX Corporate Platinum Card issued in Japan.
Furthermore, for Platinum Card and Business Platinum Card members, the number of guests who can use the lounge free of charge will be limited to one person.
