Lufthansa Airbus A380 in 100th Anniversary Livery Operates Charter Flight to Tokyo Narita
Pratt & Whitney has obtained certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the Airbus A320neo family equipped with the GTF Advantage engine.
The GTF Advantage engine had already been certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in February 2025 and by EASA in October of the same year. This has completed preparations for the delivery and entry into service of mass-produced engines.
With the GTF Advantage engine, takeoff thrust is improved by 4 to 8 percent, and flight time can be extended by up to twice as long. It is compatible with existing engines, with a full transition planned for 2028. In addition, an upgrade plan for customers operating existing engines will be offered starting in the latter half of this year.
