Japanese hotel operator fav hospitality group and GREENING opened BASE LAYER HOTEL FUKUOKA on April 15.
The property offers 126 guest rooms in 7 types. All rooms feature bed linens, pajamas, towels, and bath mats from FRUIT OF THE LOOM, as well as air purifiers from cado. Double and twin rooms are equipped with pegboard walls, while family rooms that can accommodate up to 6 guests and the 50-square-meter Comfort Fourth rooms are furnished with Shigeru Uchida–designed Free Form Chairs, large LCD TVs, and cube-shaped speakers compatible with three-dimensional sound. Sauna Twin rooms are fully equipped with a sauna featuring a push-button löyly function and a relaxation space, and use pillows and mattresses from Japanese sleep brand Brain Sleep.
Facilities within the hotel include a skin lab where guests can try products from Japanese skincare brand athletia, an unmanned convenience store open 24 hours a day, and a lounge café & bar. This autumn, an outdoor area called “BLH BACKYARD” is also scheduled to open, featuring yatai (Japanese food stalls) and a pool & sauna area.
