Thai AirAsia X will reduce the number of flights in response to soaring fuel prices.
The airline will reduce flights on routes between Bangkok/Don Mueang and Tokyo/Narita, Osaka/Kansai, Almaty, and Delhi. In addition, flights on the Bangkok/Don Mueang–Shanghai/Pudong route will be suspended from April 17, and flights on the Bangkok/Don Mueang–Riyadh route will be suspended from April 14 to June 30.
To match demand, the airline will carry out a strategic readjustment of its transport capacity to respond to the global situation and rising fuel costs. It will secure a sufficient number of flights during the long holiday period from May 1 to 7. The airline notes that there will be an impact particularly on its highly popular routes to Japan.
Booked passengers will be notified by email and SMS no later than 10 days before departure. A call center and 24-hour chat support will be provided.
