Vietjet Air launched its Shizuoka–Hanoi route on April 28.
To mark the inauguration of the first flight, a commemorative ceremony was held at Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport, attended by Shizuoka Prefecture Governor Heita Suzuki, Mr. Pham Quang Hieu from the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, and representatives from Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport and Vietjet Air. This becomes the first regular scheduled service connecting Shizuoka and Southeast Asia.
The airline operates three round trips per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The route is served by Airbus A321neo or Airbus A320 aircraft. The flight time is 5 hours 30 minutes from Shizuoka and 4 hours 50 minutes from Hanoi.
With this launch, the number of routes operated by Vietjet Air between Japan and Vietnam increases to 11.
