United Airlines will launch a new route between Sapporo/New Chitose and San Francisco on December 11.
The airline will operate three round trips per week as a seasonal service through March: departing Sapporo/New Chitose on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and departing San Francisco on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The route will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The flight time will be 9 hours 5 minutes from Sapporo/New Chitose and 10 hours 45 minutes from San Francisco.
This will be the first nonstop service connecting Sapporo, Japan and the U.S. mainland, targeting travelers coming to enjoy skiing, gourmet food, and other attractions in Hokkaido.
