JAL’s Third Boeing 777-300ER (JA733J) to Retire After Final Flight on May 18
Skymark Airlines will begin operating its Boeing 737-8 aircraft (registration: JA738A) from May 28.
The first flight is scheduled to be SKY003 from Tokyo/Haneda to Fukuoka. For the time being, it will operate on the Tokyo/Haneda–Fukuoka route, and will gradually be introduced on other routes as well. The aircraft type can be checked on the seat availability screen, where it will be displayed as “738”.
Compared to the current Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the Boeing 737-8 reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions per seat by approximately 15 percent. While the number of seats remains the same at 177 as on the current aircraft, the range will increase from 5,440 kilometers to 6,480 kilometers. The aircraft is equipped with LEAP-1B engines manufactured by CFM International.
The planned in-flight Wi-Fi service is currently being prepared for launch and will not be available for the time being. Details, including the start date of the service, will be announced once they have been decided.
