UK Government Warns of Long Immigration Queues at Copenhagen Airport
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea and Incheon International Airport Corporation have expanded the dedicated departure gates for the airport’s facial recognition service, “Smart Pass.”
Smart Pass is a service that allows travelers to pass through the departure gate, security screening, immigration, and boarding gate using only facial recognition by pre-registering passport information, facial data, and boarding passes in a mobile app. Boarding passes of five airlines—Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, T’way Air, and Air Premia—are automatically linked with the Smart Pass app, so users can use the service without manually entering their boarding pass information.
Newly added Smart Pass dedicated gates have been installed at five locations: Gates 2 and 5 in Terminal 1, and Gates 1D, 2C, and 2D in Terminal 2. Previously, Smart Pass dedicated gates were located at the ends of the terminals, making access inconvenient and resulting in sluggish usage. To address this, additional gates have been installed in more convenient locations.
Smart Pass is used not only for access to the departure gates, but also for self-bag drop services of Jeju Air, T’way Air, Jin Air, and Air Seoul, as well as for identity verification at boarding gates of some airlines.
