Malaysia Airlines Receives Its 200th Boeing Aircraft
On June 3, Japan Airlines (JAL) unveiled its special livery aircraft “JAL Jubilee Express” (Boeing 737-800, registration: JA339J) at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, created in collaboration with Oriental Land Co., Ltd. The aircraft celebrates the 25th anniversary event of Tokyo DisneySea, “Sparkling Jubilee,” and will operate on domestic routes from June 4.
The aircraft’s design is based on the anniversary event’s theme color, “Jubilee Blue,” and features Mickey Mouse and his Disney friends in special costumes, along with the Aquasphere and Mount Prometheus, both iconic symbols of Tokyo DisneySea.
Onboard, passengers will find specially designed headrest covers and paper cups (three designs in total), and will be welcomed with the Tokyo DisneySea 25th anniversary theme song, “Come Join the Jubilee.” As a boarding commemorative gift, a boarding certificate sticker (one randomly selected from three types) will also be presented.
The inaugural flight will be JL625 from Tokyo/Haneda to Kumamoto, departing at 8:00 a.m. on June 4. Routes and flight numbers after that will be announced on the official website and other channels on the evening of the day before operation. The aircraft is scheduled to operate until around April 2027.
The tie-up between JAL and Oriental Land began in 2001, when Tokyo DisneySea opened, with the debut of “JAL Dream Express 21” that same year. Since then, the collaboration has continued with “JAL Happiness Express” (2013), “JAL Happy Journey Express” (2015), “JAL Celebration Express” (2018), “JAL Colorful Dream Express” (2023), and “JAL Fantastic Journey Express” (2024). “JAL Jubilee Express” is the seventh in the series. Other Disney-themed aircraft are operated under a separate licensing agreement with Walt Disney Japan.
