Japan Airlines (JAL) will expand operations of its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on the Tokyo/Haneda–London/Heathrow route from October 1 to 24.
Currently, the aircraft is operated on flights JL43/44, which depart Tokyo/Haneda in the morning and London/Heathrow at night. During this period, it will also be operated on flights JL41/42, which depart Tokyo/Haneda around midnight and London/Heathrow in the morning. As a result, all flights on the route will be operated by Airbus A350-1000 aircraft during this period. Details for operations from October 25 onward will be announced once decided.
The Airbus A350-1000 is the successor to the Boeing 777-300ER, which has been JAL’s mainstay aircraft on international routes. The cabin is configured with 239 seats in four classes: First Class with 6 seats in a 1-1-1 layout, Business Class with 54 seats in a 1-2-1 layout, Premium Economy Class with 24 seats in a 2-4-2 layout, and Economy Class with 155 seats in a 3-3-3 layout. First Class and Business Class are JAL’s first-ever fully enclosed suites with doors. In-flight entertainment (IFE) features 4K resolution monitors in all classes, and passengers can connect wireless earphones via Bluetooth.
