Uber Japan has been offering a flight-linked airport pickup booking feature since April 27.
When booking a ride to or from an airport, users can register flight information such as the airline name and flight number. The app will automatically obtain the actual departure and arrival times and adjust the pickup timing according to delays or early arrivals. The eligible services are the taxi dispatch service “Uber Taxi” and the hire car dispatch service “Uber Premium” (only for flights to and from Tokyo/Haneda Airport). The six eligible airports in Japan are Sapporo/New Chitose, Tokyo/Haneda, Nagoya/Chubu, Osaka/Itami, Kobe, and Okinawa/Naha.
Ride reservations are accepted from 90 days before the scheduled pickup time up to 15 minutes before. In principle, the driver is confirmed in advance between 7 days and 1 day before the scheduled pickup date. The reservation fee is the same as the “Uber Taxi” reservation function (700 yen), and the fare is based on the standard metered rate for “Uber Taxi,” with an additional pickup fee and an in‑app booking fee (the in‑app fee applies only within Tokyo’s 23 wards).
To commemorate the launch of this feature, Uber Japan is distributing a promotion code. By entering the promotion code “JPRAPURADO26” in the app, users receive a 700‑yen discount on the ride cost. The promotion is valid until July 31.
