Finnair will resume services to Tampere and Turku from October.
In line with environmentally conscious efforts to shift short-haul routes to bus services, some flights were discontinued in May 2022 and replaced by buses, and the bus services themselves were discontinued in May 2023. The flights to be operated are late-night services, while during the daytime, the Oulu–Helsinki route will provide access via Tampere, and the Stockholm–Helsinki route will provide access via Turku. Daytime bus services will continue to operate.
Finnair states that this will strengthen connections to its international network to Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia.
