JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) will acquire All Wise Holdings, which owns EXO Travel Group, a destination management company (DMC) that operates primarily in the B2B market in Asia, through a group company.
EXO Travel Group is a DMC established in 1993 in Bangkok, Thailand. It operates in 10 Asian countries and regions—Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and Myanmar—and also has bases in Egypt and Morocco. The company has a strong brand presence in the affluent markets of Europe, North America, and Australia, and provides tailor-made travel focusing on cultural and nature experiences in collaboration with travel advisors and tour operators around the world.
Through this acquisition, JTB will gain a customer base in the Europe, North America, and Australia outbound-to-Asia market, along with a multifaceted service platform, thereby accelerating the expansion of its global exchange-creation business. By combining the strengths of JTB Global Marketing & Travel’s inbound travel business to Japan and EXO Travel’s inbound travel business to Asia, JTB will establish a system capable of handling multi-destination travel that views Asia, including Japan, as one integrated travel destination. Looking ahead, JTB aims to become the world’s number one player by integrating this with the JTB Group’s existing global DMC operations.
