JAL and Partners to Build Major Aircraft MRO Complex at Vietnam’s Van Don International Airport
Airbus has opened a second A320 Family Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France.
The opening was celebrated at a ceremony attended by France’s Minister for Transport Philippe Tabarot, along with Airbus executives and several hundred employees.
The new line is installed in the same Jean-Luc Lagardère building formerly used for the A380 as the existing line that began operations in July 2023, and integrates digital control, automated logistics, and robotics to optimize work efficiency and ergonomics. Around 700 people are currently working on the existing line, and as operations on the new line ramp up, the total number of employees at the site is expected to eventually reach about 1,500.
With this addition, Airbus will have a total of 10 final assembly lines worldwide: four in Hamburg, Germany, two each in Mobile, United States, and Tianjin, China, plus the lines in Toulouse, France. To meet market demand, the company is aiming to increase production to 75 aircraft per month. It expects to reach a production rate of 70–75 aircraft per month by the end of 2027, and then stabilize at 75 aircraft per month. As of the end of May, the A320 Family backlog stood at 7,499 aircraft.
