AIRDO, a Japanese airline based in Hokkaido, has decided to name its new member status service that will begin on April 1, 2027, “MILEAGE STARDOM.”
Under the new status service, the following year’s status is determined each calendar year based on the status points earned. The program consists of three tiers: Status 1 (0–99 points, the basic status at enrollment), Status 2 (100–249 points, 80% bonus miles on the base mileage earned for flights), and Status 3 (250 points or more, 120% bonus miles on the base mileage earned for flights, plus benefits such as lounge access).
In addition, from September 29, the “points” accumulation in My AIRDO will be changed to “miles” accumulation. Existing AIRDO points will be automatically converted at a rate of 1 point = 4 miles. Ways to use miles will also be expanded, including use at the official online shop “AIRDO Online Marché” (2 miles = 1 yen), and the introduction of a new “Family Miles” program that allows up to five family members within the second degree of kinship, mainly those who are AIRDO cardholders, to pool their miles.
Flight miles will be accrued according to sector and fare type. For example, on the Tokyo/Haneda–Sapporo/New Chitose route, a “DO Value” fare (75% accrual rate) earns 383 miles. The number of miles required for an award ticket in the regular season is 7,000 miles for routes such as Tokyo/Haneda–Sapporo/New Chitose and Hakodate, 8,000 miles for routes such as Tokyo/Haneda–Asahikawa, Memanbetsu, Kushiro, Obihiro and Sapporo/New Chitose–Fukuoka, and 6,000 miles for routes such as Sapporo/New Chitose–Sendai and Hakodate–Nagoya/Chubu.
