Tokaido Shinkansen May Experience Delays and Suspensions on June 27 Due to Typhoon No. 7
Awajiya will launch the fifth product in its container bento series, the “JNR Container Bento: Tokyo Tonkatsu Edition,” from July 1.
Inspired by the “C6000-type container” from the era of the former Japanese National Railways (JNR), the mold for the container has been completely redesigned to more faithfully reproduce the JNR container. The dedicated container is decorated with the phrases “From door to door,” “JNR Container,” and “Type 6000,” and is filled with tonkatsu, which represents Tokyo’s food culture, as well as seasoned rice and kinpira burdock and carrot. It is designed so it can be stacked and enjoyed together with the previous items in the container bento series. The sauce uses locally produced Oliver Sauce from Kobe. The price is 1,680 yen (tax included).
The bento will be available at all Awajiya stores in the Kansai region, including Shin-Kobe, Kobe, Nishi-Akashi, and Tarumi Stations, as well as on the Awajiya online shop. Online orders and reservations began at 9:00 p.m. on June 26.
