Nishi-Tokyo Bus to Operate Seasonal Service between Shinjuku, Hachioji, and Summerland
Kotohira Bus introduced the “KOTOLINK biz” service on June 1 on its bus route connecting the Kansai region and Kotohira in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.
“KOTOLINK biz” is a service that allows passengers to spend the approximately four-hour trip between Osaka and Kotohira on phone calls, web conferences, and computer work. While recommending the use of earphones and microphones, the company officially permits phone calls and web meetings on board. The buses are equipped with Wi-Fi, and 15 lap-top tables and 15 mobile batteries for PCs are available for rental. Earplugs and eye masks are also distributed to those who request them.
The service is expected to help overseas digital nomads, domestic workation users, multi-base workers, and business travelers make effective use of their travel time. Upon arrival in Kotohira, passengers can use the coworking space at “Kotori Coworking & Hostel,” operated by the company in Kotohira, for one hour free of charge.
One-way fares to Kotohira (adult) are 4,500 yen for departures/arrivals in Osaka and Kobe, and 4,000 yen for departures/arrivals on Awaji Island. Two services (one round trip) operate daily: one bus departs from WILLER Bus Terminal Osaka Umeda at 8:30 a.m., and the return bus departs from the Konpira Sandoguchi bus stop in Kotohira at 5:30 p.m.
